ALIS C. SNOW
(The MMI Resurrection '17)

This 2017 competition would be held at the Chrysler Museum Theater in Downtown Norfolk on the first Saturday of June.  We just love Chrysler because it just offers such an experience and the QUALITY is just astounding.

We would also be blessed to have every former present beyond two and of course our deceased Representatives.  I was honored and overjoyed to have all of my ladies present. WE ARE THE MAFIA HOUSE OF MMI. It was a pleasant surprise to see Alis return to MMI because although in the past she had not been victorious but did well in categories. She spoke with me months prior and said she was coming to compete and she showed up.

Now Taejah aka Zedyc L. Thomas opening production would consist of the former's in funeral attire as they were laying to rest (PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE).  I was very impressed with the opening production and the ladies had it on. I'm saving some of the pictures purposely so you'll have something new to see on our exclusive site once again that will launch on Christmas Day.  Taejah did an EXCELLENT job with producing her opening production.

Now within the categories the most impressive was of course (CREATIVE EVENING GOWN AND TALENT). Alis did something that had never been done at MMI. She made her gown out of shower curtains with a shower hose as a secret accessory.  She had the matching turbine on her head and right when you thought it was not enough (SHE BEGAN TO SPRINKLE HER GOWN).  The audience went into an uproar. She further did a gospel for talent where she portrayed an older woman of which is a signature talent for her and executed very well. She would become Miss Models Inc 2017 with Dymond Cartier at 1st Alt.

Now being the busy woman she was unfortunately unable to return for her first booking (Hampton Roads Pride on the Main Stage) as she was designing for a wedding and was unable to make this appearance which was totally understood so Millennium aka Dajuan Gee would step in to represent MMI.

We would also have to handle our contract signings via mail because she had to leave immediately the next day based on appointments.  Again she's a very busy lady which was understood.  I was excited to see her win the competition because I knew her heart was passionate about being a part of the system and she had waited to compete in a competition for many years and it's no secret she had surgery and was back at her full capacity to come back to stage.

My ultimate goal was always to make her feel extremely special hence the reason why I wanted to go out of my way so that she understood the magnitude of being Miss Models Inc.  My first step was to assure she had a proper photo shoot so I would make contact once again with Texas's own photographer extraordinaire.  I would further solicit TI STAMP aka Tamisha Iman as I wanted her to be relaxed and feel like a National Queen.  She was very excited.

She pulled her looks together and off she went. I remember her sending me a sample picture that was taken by a camera phone and I was like, WOW.  Now to a couple questions that is pretty standard but also knowledgeable to note

Why the MMI Resurrection? Well I felt she had been away for such a long time and what better time to Resurrect Alis hence the Resurrection.  She loved the name as well and the audience thought it was so appropriate.

The Take-home Crown: Black and clear stones with the logo with the year of the representative along with the custom pendant to match.

The National Crown: Black and clear stones with logo silhouetted in center with MMI with MMI National in black onyx underneath.

Now being a little transparent, we did have some conversations where there were some things that were a little indifferent with one another and I may mention one or two of those things when we are spotlighting our next representative on Monday.  What I enjoyed about Alis was the fact she was coming back to the scene and I felt MMI was a great platform to showcase who she was today.  I wanted to offer her the opportunity to do every National Walk that her schedule would permit and book her in places she had never worked before all while understanding she had worked behind the scenes countlessly sewing/assisting many people and this was her time to shine!

I remember one incident where She was booked in DC and this is something I'll never forget as it was very important to stand by the integrity of MMI.  She was working at Ziegfelds and due to work at Perry's brunch on that Sunday.  We arrived at the brunch and was told she was not on the schedule because the previous person I had booked with was no longer working as a Show Director so there was a miscommunication. I did have an opportunity to speak with the management and the issue was resolved and thanks again to Monet Dupree for splitting her booking fee to accommodate having the extra entertainer.  YOU DID NOT HAVE TO DO THIS AND I WAS GRATEFUL TO BOTH OF YOU AND MANAGEMENT!

She would go on to work in many places in ATLANTA,VA,NC AND DC. She would participate in 9 National appearances and perform at many of those competitions.  She would give me many gifts of which I will showcase here with her spotlight. These are gifts I hold dear to my heart and I keep some visibly in my home as they mean a lot to me.  I would say something during her final promo picture launch of which was misconstrued in my opinion (THIS WAS ONE OF THE CHALLENGING REIGNS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED). This was not a negative statement as this was the first time I had worked with someone that had been away from the scene for such a long time and was rebuilding their brand and name while representing MMI. This became a pleasant experience for me and my goal was to assure nobody would forget her return.  I HOPE TO HAVE MET YOUR EXPECTATIONS WHILE YOU RESURRECTED!

Congratulations on all your endeavors since your conquer here at MMI and I look forward to seeing you in June as you return for your former presentation.  She would take many pictures, some of which she probably don't remember but here are just a few.
