After last year's competition I made an executive decision to take a break and would not have the competition in 2012. My reasonings were because mentally I was a bit drained with promoting and I just needed a break to revamp the system. The prize package was astronomical at this point and of course what the representative would receive during her reign was beyond the STANDARDS of normal pageantry. It was a good consideration in my thoughts. Now in hindsight of that decision Trinity did not have an opportunity to do a formal step down because when we resumed in 2013 she was fortunate to be selected for RuPaul's drag race.

 

I had to keep this a secret from the public based upon the drag race rules and regulations per contestants so when she wasn't present during her step down, many wondered why she wasn't there and I finally was able to explain her absence the night of the competition. It was VERY entertaining to me because people just always come up with a whole lot of MESS. I would again solicit ODU theater and it was available and the competition would be held the second Sunday in June as Saturday was not available. We would NOT have the MMI Review Show/Mini Ball this particular year.

 

We would have two contestants, Rashonda Boney and Millennium C Snow. THE OPENING WOULD BE MMI TOP MODELS. The formers would come back as different variations of MODELS. Rashonda would win CREATIVE EVENING GOWN , TALENT and RUNWAY. Millennium would win PRESENTATION and two points away from CREATIVE GOWN.

Why the MMI Dràma? If you know Rashonda then you know she can be a whole lot of DRAMA but in a fun way. I remember announcing her deemed name prior to her performing and the house loved it.

I would meet with Rashonda at my home the very next day for her formal contract signing. I will be just a little transparent at this point because I think it's necessary. I had a small concern of her fulfilling her obligations because she had a personal situation she had to deal with and it was not promising she was going to be present during her reign. I made an executive decision to do an intervention with a couple of the local former's of which I won't mention but I felt the need to have them present and made amendments to the contract based on this new found information.

 

I often felt some of the influence from others caused certain decisions to be made. Now without going into any further details the decision was made for her to consider resignation and it was accepted. We did have to go legal and requested things were returned. She would resign publicly on Facebook of which this is NOT how you resign at MMI as per the contract we require you to formally resign in written form but I made the decision to digress and moved on.

 

I would make contact with Millennium in August to ask if she would resume the duties as Miss Models Inc. She would wholeheartedly accept and as always I felt the need to bring her to the current prize package. The contract allows me to request monetary value but I never exercise those abilities rather just want the articles ( TAKE-CROWN/PENDANT). I would receive the crown from Rashonda and she would state to have misplaced her pendant.

 

I'm very careful with presenting whomever Miss Models Inc is going to be to the public because I want her to be received in a professional manner. I would make contact with a local photographer in Hampton for the purposes of presenting her to the public as the new MMI. MILLENNIUM WOULD PUBLICLY BE PRESENTED AS MISS MODELS INC IN AUGUST.

Why the MMI Remodel? I must admit as I was being VERY CATTY so I thought REMODEL was very appropriate as I wanted to REMODEL the DRAMA.

 

Now after introducing her to the public, it was a warm reception. I then made a decision to solicit photographer Leonardo out of Washington DC. I had seen his work and was VERY fond of it. I also had known his husband, Christopher for well over 20 years. They welcomed us into their beautiful condo with EXCELLENT amenities. WE HAD MUCH FUN AND WHAT A GREAT JOB.

 

I was very happy to work with Millennium because I have adored her for many years. I often felt she did not receive her just do, and certainly in the Richmond area. SHE WORKS SO HARD. SHE CREATES COSTUMES, HAIR, MAKEUP and just a warm Spirit to work with it. SHE'S AN AVID PROFESSIONAL and this I appreciate it. WE TRAVELED MANY PLACES ATL,NC, LOUISIANA, DC, just to name a few.

She would tour many of the standard locations that were put in place for MMI (RAINBOW CACTUS, ZIEGFELDS, STARS OF THE CENTURY, MARQUETTE, CROCS AKA DRAG YOURSELF TO BRUNCH, HAMPTON ROADS GAY PRIDE AND CLUB COLORS) JUST TO NAME A FEW.

 

Appearances/Performances: MBU, MBA, SWEETHEART INTERNATIONAL, WESSLAND, MISS RAINBOW CACTUS, MMI NEWBY, RENAISSANCE.

 

I would often wonder what she was going to do next as her ensembles and entertainment because she ALWAYS wanted to practice variety and was CONSTANTLY creating something new. SHE LOVES TO DRAG! She's one of those ladies who can work with all demographics and not everyone can Master doing this because often they stay within their own demographic. SHE WORKED VERY WELL AND THIS I ADMIRED.

 

It's no secret she has had some health challenges and currently dealing with getting back to normalcy. I've had a chance to visit with her and speak with her on a regular basis and she's been here at my home so many times and I've been at hers. I LOVE THIS LADY AND BY ALL MEANS SHE IS ONE OF MY #TOP5 REIGNS OF ALL TIME and when I say this I mean it. She's gone on as many of my ladies to do GREAT things and PLEASE continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers. SHE'S ALSO THE MMI MASTER JUDGE AND WAS HAPPY TO PASS THIS POSITION DOWN TO HER.

 

PS: I made an executive decision to allow Roshanda to return to representing her deemed name (MMI DRÀMA) IN 2019. THIS DECISION WAS MADE BECAUSE I KNOW THE LOVE SHE HAS FOR THE SYSTEM AND WAS HAPPY TO WELCOME HER BACK. Thank you for accepting the invitation and look forward to our future.
