This particular year the competition was moved to the "White House Cafe" in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. I remember distinctively that we had a bad storm. I was in so much fear that the patrons were not going to come. But with God's blessing, we had a packed house where Farrah became the second Miss Models Inc.

Farrah was the first entertainer I had ever seen perform at the LEGENDARY COLLEGE CLUB. She was Miss College Cue at this time. She was someone I admired for many years, being I was only 17 years old. Now at 31, imagine someone you have revered for so long - you are tasked with crowning this ICON.

Why the MMI ICON? If I had to answer this, then you don't know FARRAH. When I select a theme name, I want it to manifest to the actual representative. THIS WAS A VERY EASY SELECTION.

This was an exceptional reign but also demanding because she was so well-known and constantly booked so I had to find a strategy to assure her representation as Miss Models Inc we planned a strategic schedule and it worked. I would often call her ARMANDA of which her original middle name was spelled AMANDA. She told me she liked the pop of me adding the "R" so at that point she was called FARRAH ARMANDA MC CRAY.

WHEN YOU HEAR THE NAME "MC CRAY" (SHE IS THE MATRIARCH AND FOUNDING MOTHER). PLEASE MAKE NO MISTAKE! SHE IS MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, MENTOR, COMPETITION COACH, MAKEUP ARTIST, HAIR STYLIST AND SO MUCH MORE and HONORED/RESPECTED as such.

Farrah took ill in early 2009 and we lost her on May 3rd of that year. The city certainly mourned an ICON and showed RESPECT with her homegoing service.

We further celebrate her with the MMI ICON award which to date has been given to 9 recipients. We truly miss Farrah with her candid humor, commitment, professionalism, and certainly her no-nonsense for foolishness. SHE TRULY PLAYED NO GAMES WITH ANYONE.
